When applying for a residence permit, the applicant must demonstrate possession of money in a Turkish bank. The money can be used freely after you have received the Residence Permit. In connection with applications for residence permits you have to pay a small tax. The amount of this tax varies and depends on the nationality of the applicant and the length of the stay.
How to Get Citizenship in Turkey?
Birthright Citizenship:
Children born in Turkey and born to a Turkish citizen mother or father automatically become Turkish citizens.
Citizenship Through Marriage:
Foreigners who have been married to a Turkish citizen for at least 3 years can apply for citizenship without having to reside in Turkey.
Citizenship by Investment:
Foreigners who invest a certain amount (for example, to buy real estate or start a business) can apply for Turkish citizenship.
Long-Term Residence:
Foreigners who have been residing in Turkey continuously for 5 years can apply for citizenship.
How to Get Residence in Turkey?
Short-Term Residence Permit: It can be obtained for tourist purposes, for reasons such as a job interview, education or research. Passport, biometric photo and health insurance are required for application.
Family Residence Permit:
Foreigners who are married to a Turkish citizen or family members of foreigners residing in Turkey may obtain this permit 2.
Student Residence Permit: It is valid for foreign students studying in Turkey.
Work Permit: Foreigners who want to work in Turkey can obtain a work permit through their employer and apply for residence with this permit
Penalties for incorrect transactions
Misrepresentation: If incorrect information or incorrect documents are given, the residence permit is revised and the person may be deported.
Exceeding the Residence Permit Period:
The extension application must be submitted no later than 15 days from the end of the residence permit period. A penalty fee is applied for those who exceed this time2
